3 Oct, 2024

Armstrong have completed a refurbishment of a 3.6MW ground mount solar asset, near Bodham, Holt, in North Norfolk.  The solar farm, which is over ten years old, has been successfully modernised using cutting edge SKE/Huawei inverter technology to ensure the asset is performing to forecast expectations and optimal operation levels.

The site works at the Pond Solar Farm, were completed on schedule and budget in just under 7 weeks.  The project was undertaken with Stern Energy, a specialised operator offering technical services for the management, maintenance and construction of photovoltaic systems, who operate and manage the site day to day on behalf of Armstrong.

Michael Hughes, Director at Armstrong said “The remedial works at our Pond Solar Farm site have significantly boosted the performance of the solar farm, by minimising downtime, streamlining maintenance for our Operations & Maintenance partner, and extending equipment warranties. This revitalized powerhouse generates enough clean energy to power almost 1,300 homes every year.

He added: “We have replaced outdated systems with cutting-edge technology, including new high voltage transformers, upgraded low voltage distribution panels, enhanced monitoring capabilities, and fenced free-standing racking inverter stations with state-of-the-art M2 SKE/Huawei string inverters.”
